We had a fabulous week! Our caterpillars are now in the pupa stage. We have put them inside the butterfly house and we can't wait for them to come out! We made a book about butterflies this week. Let your child read it to you at home. They did a great job making the books.
Our Class is "Beary" Special
SHOW & TELL: Bring your favorite animal book. I will try to read as many as possible. Be sure to label the book with your child's name. PET DAY: To cap off our animal unit in Science we will be having a pet day at school on May 18. Any type of pet is fine. Please have dogs on a leash. Parents will need to meet us at the small playground with the pet at 1:00 on May 18. We will let the children walk by and look at all the pets before car line. If your child does not have a live pet bring a stuffed one! BEACH WEEK: May 21-25 we will be doing some beachy activities as we close our our science unit on the ocean. May 21 - Wear your flip flops! May 22 - Wear sunglasses! May 23 - Bring a Beach towel to school! We will eat our snack on them and pretend we are at the beach. May 24 - Bring a beach/sand toy! BIBLE VERSE: We will review our Bible verses that we have learned thoughout the year. I will not give another Bible Verse test. FIELD TRIP: We will be going to the Northside Baptist Church Playground and Picnic shelter for some fun and fellowship on May 25. We will leave school at about 10:20 and return by 1:00 in time for normal car line. A handout will be sent home with details and a spot for you to sign to give your permission. This is a really fun time of fellowship with parents and classmates. Please try to attend! I will post a sign-up sheet for needed items. GRADUATION PROGRAM: This year we will be performing The Tale of the Three Trees. It is a really cute musical. Each child will need to be dressed up as a tree on Graduation Night. This means a brown shirt, brown pants, and some type of removeable head piece that is decked out with greenery/leaves. THINGS TO WORK ON AT HOME: SIGHT WORD TEST: Our next sight word test is May 24 on the following words: there, sing, never, going, could, bring, better, around, again, about. This will be our last sight word test for the year. I am so pleased with how many words they have learned to recognize by sight! Our "Beary" First Day of School!
