    with Miata about her week)

Please remember to check my website every weekend
for updated information.  If for some reason something on
my website does not work, please check Mrs. Ramsey's page (

New this week:

Wednesday is our field trip.  Please remember to have your child wear socks.  There is a gift shop.  If you are not attending with your child, please put their gift shop money in a ziploc bag with their name on it.  Remember, our planning on leaving promptly at 8:15.  Before your child comes to the class please make sure they have taken care of all restroom needs.  They may bring portable game units, but no headphones are allowed.  The bus will be locked so that we can leave these on the bus while we are in WonderWorks.

We are practicing for Bible Sword Drill Competition right now.  Our class representatives will be picked soon.

For the Poetry Competition we will all read the same poem in class for several days.  I will choose the representatives by who (after several days of practice) shows the best expression and appropriate excitement for the poem.  The poem is not memorized.

Please let me know if your child would like to sign-up for our Elementrary Fine Arts piano solo, vocal, and/or strings competition. The date of the in-house competition is February 24th at 8:30 a.m.

For our next English chapter we will be learning how to write a book report.  Make sure your child has their REALISTIC FICTION BOOK with them every day next week.  There will be a five point homework grade given each day for bringing the book with them.

We will have a Valentine Party, but it is very low key.  This is a party I put on for the class as my valentine to them.  The names of all of our class members are listed in the red section to the left so that you can know who and how many valentines you need to do.  Students do need to decorate a shoe box for a valentine box. Have them decorate it so that it matches their personalities.
Sorry no parents allowed.

SCIENTIST OF THE DAY
Packets went home Friday, January 13 with all of the information you need for this project.  Please note the due date your child is teaching SCIENCE.  Important to remember:  have fun, keep it under 10 minutes.  See below for the date your child is presenting.

We go outside every day unless it is raining or below 32 degrees.  Please, check the weather and send your child prepared.  On Tuesday it was very cold and there were students that came with only hoodie for a coat.  Girls need to wear tights and not stretch pants.  Put your child's name in all coats.

If you forgot to re-enroll get your form and $100 in as soon as possible. It is not too late.

HELP CLASS from 3:15-3:45 -- A note will be sent home with those who need to attend.
English help will be given on Monday.
Reading help will be given on Tuesday.
Math on Wednesday (except for the first Wed. of the month)

 WEBSITES TO CHECK OUT

Don't forget to visit Renaissance Home Connect.  This is a great way to
see how your child is doing.

www.spellingcity.com/BHayden
This site will take you to our Spelling lists.  We will take two weeks to cover one unit. The first week will be spelling words only, and week two is a vocabulary test over the first ten words.  The vocab words can be found in the Sadlier Oxford book.  (Use the definitions from the book and not the website.  The website only gives you one definition per word.)  My recomendation is to not wait until the second week to start learning the vocabulary words.

www.ixl.com
This site allows you to practice math problems.

www.mathfactcafe.com
Has flashcards, great way to review!

http://www.sadlier-oxford.com/vocabulary/levels_a2h.cfm?sp=family
Play games with the original 10 vocab words from our list.  We are level green.  If you need an access code, it is on one of the front pages of your child's vocabulary book. (left hand side of the page about 3/4 of the way down the page)

http://kids4truth.com/Devos/Home.aspx
If you don't have a family devotional plan and don't know where to begin... this is a great page.  Visit k4t.com for other neat stuff.  This corresponds with our Wednesday night kids program, but the website and devotional are great resources of their own.

www.superteacherworksheets.com is a great site to use for extra help.
