Wilmington Christian Academy offers the best, most comprehensive summer camp program in the Wilmington area. Excellent facilities, caring, professional teachers, and enthusiastic coaches create an enjoyable summer experience at WCA that will be remembered for years to come.

Week 1: June 12-15

Basic Car Maintenance
Grades: 3-10 • 8:00-11:00 am
Learn how to check  uids, change the oil, change wiper blades, change a tire, and many other ways to maintain a vehicle.

Check Mate! Chess Camp
Grades: 2-9 • 8:00-11:00 am
Hone strategic skills and analytical thinking at chess camp. Learn skills that build character for living a successful life. You will enjoy the thrill of competition while you enrich your mind in a timeless, classic game. Camp will include recreation and snack time.
Intermediate

Car Maintenance
Grades: 3-10 • 12:30-3:30 pm
Learn to change engine components, brake pads, spark plugs and more. We will also learn about specialty tools.

Candy Land
Grades: 3-9 • 12:30-3:30 pm
Come learn the art of making candy. From simple recipes to more complex, campers will create the best-ever caramel popcorn, dreamy fudge, and more. Instructions in measuring and mixing will produce varieties of sweet treats to share and eat.

Week 2: June 19-22

Sports Adventure
Grades: 1-5 • 8:00-11:00 am
Come play Frisbee golf, miniature golf, bowling, cro- quet, and many other lawn sports.

Wild West Cowboy Camp
Grades:K-2• 8:00-11:00am
Howdy partners! Saddle up for a rootin’ tootin’ good time! Learn how to lasso a steer, tame a bucking bronco, and make some grub by the  re. Watch out for danger on the trails and be ready to work hard on the ranch. C’mon cowboys and cowgirls, let’s giddy-up and go! Yee-haw!

Star Wars LEGO Camp
Grades: 3-9 • 8:00-11:00 am
There has been an awakening in the Force! Explore the galaxy and master your Force while constructing LEGO Star Wars sets. Be prepared to hunt down the enemy and play out your own exciting battle scenes. Get ready for action!

Rainforest Adventure Camp
Grades: K-2 • 12:30-3:30 pm
Grab your binoculars and bug spray and pack your bags for a jungle adventure! We’ll explore this incredible habitat and discover how the animals, plants, and insects all play important roles in helping the rainforest thrive. Let’s investigate the forest floor, swing from the tallest treetops, and keep an eye out for jaguars and anacondas!

Spa and Relaxation Camp
Grades: 3-5 Girls • 12:30-3:30 pm
Manicures, pedicures, and facials! Oh my! Come have
a relaxing time and learn how to give a massage, make facials, body scrubs, and more. Melt away the school year stress with a calm retreat. All activities aim to teach the true meaning of beauty, confidence, learning the importance of taking care of your body, while having fun!

Cookies! Munch! Munch!
Grades: 1-9 • 12:30-3:30 pm
Learn to follow recipes, mix, and bake delicious cookies. With learning basic baking skills, campers will be able to whip up the best chocolate chips, snickerdoodles, and more. Best part is you get to eat the results.

Week 3: June 26-29

Forensic Camp
Grades: 4-9 • 8:00-11:00 am
AHA!! That’s the sound of campers solving a crime. This camp is geared toward hands-on learning in the  eld of forensic. If you love solving puzzles, going to science museums and watch forensic television shows, then come learn the hows and whys behind crime scene investigation.

Painting Camp
Grades: 3-9 • 8:00-11:00 am
This class will help you develop your painting skills and techniques. Your child will be rewarded by the skills and techniques they have learned.

Best Brownies & Bars
Grades: 1-9 • 12:30-3:30 pm
Everybody loves warm brownies right out of the oven. Campers, come learn the basics in baking, how to follow recipes, and create chocolate brownies, blonde brownies, lemon bars, and more. Every recipe has been taste-tested and guaranteed to delight even the pickiest taste buds.

Week 4: July 10-13

Discover Wilmington
Grades: 3-9 • 8:00-11:00 am
Discover summer fun in Wilmington and beyond! We will take a boat ride on the Cape Fear River and stop at Kilwins for ice cream. We will take a Ferry Ride to Southport and see the Maritime Museum. Paddle boats at Carolina Beach and Britt’s donuts. Tour Wilmington on a Trolley and see the Railroad Museum.

Tool Time!
Grades: 1-8 • 8:00-11:00 am
This camp introduces students to basic hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, saws, pliers, drills, etc. and will include proper usage and technique. The week will conclude with a handmade project that the students can take home with them.

Cup Cakes Galore
Grades: 1-9 • 12:30-3:30 pm
Party time! Let’s learn to make cupcakes. We’ll begin with basic baking instructions and go creative from there. No box; all from scratch! Then we will discover a variety of icings and create beautiful and delicious baked goodies for entertaining.

Survivor!
Grades: 1-8 • 12:30-3:30 pm
This camp is an introduction to basic first aid/CPR and will also include some basic survival skills that one would need if they were lost in the wilderness. Things like, how to use a compass, build a shelter,  nd food, set up a rescue signal, and maybe some hunting/trapping will be taught. The week will culminate with a “lost in the WCA wilderness challenge”.

Week 5: July 17-20

Cartoon Artist
Grades: 3-9 • 8:00-11:00 am
This class will help students see cartoons as lines and curves. We will practice drawing with guided activities. You could be the next Charles Schultz!

LEGO City Camp
Grades: 1-3 • 8:00-11:00 am
Get your hard hat on and get ready to build! Campers will construct various LEGO City sets of their choice as they learn about how community helpers play such an important role in each town or city. There are also thousands of free-build pieces that they can use for imaginative play.

Princess Spa & Relaxation Camp
Grades: K-2 Girls • 8:00-11:00 am

Pizza! Pizza!

Come learn how to make pizzas from scratch! Starting with homemade pizza dough, then adding toppings, sauces, and cheeses, each day we will learn to bake different pizzas to astound family and friends. There will be no limits to the delicious results.

Kindergarten Korner

Calling new kindergartners to Kindergarten Korner!
Join us for phonics, reading and math review to get a jumpstart on kindergarten. We will review through hands-on activities, games, and much more. Get a jumpstart for a successful transition to kindergarten!

STEAM Ahead

Discover secret math and science tricks to create inter- esting art and design. (STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

Jumpstart to 1st Grade

Calling all new first graders! Dust off the summer cobwebs! Get ready for first grade through phonics, reading, math, and writing review. Perfect Pies
Grades: 4-9 • 12:30-3:30 pm
Master the art of creating incredible pies - baking crusts, fruit pies, cream pies, pumpkin pies, and more. Follow recipes, measure, mix, and bake up a different pie each day to take home and devour.

Week 7: July 31-Aug 3

Beekeeping 101
Grades: 2-9 • 8:00-11:00 am
Students will learn the importance of honey bees, how pollination plays a major impact on the food we eat,
the duties of a beekeeper, and how honey is made and extracted. We will discuss why the honey bees are becoming endangered and how to help. Hands on activities will include handling and learning about beekeeper tools and equipment, putting together the parts of a hive, planting  flowers in learning about pollination, and assisting in a honey extraction. The best part is meeting live honey bees!

Digital Photography
Grades: 3-9 • 8:00-11:00 am
Discover the techniques of good photography and editing by seeing life behind the lens of a digital camera. Come create a digital portfolio.

Sweet Breads for All
Grades: 2-9 • 12:30-3:30 pm
Do you love fresh, wholesome apple cakes, southern corn breads, banana breads and more? Come learn how to follow recipes, measure, mix, and bake fantastic sweet breads everyone will enjoy. Every camper will leave with their own recipe collection and the skills to create at home.
