Summer Day Camp Activity Calendars for 2013 

INTRODUCTION

Wilmington Christian Academy Summer Day Camp is a ministry of Grace Baptist Church, located at 1401 North College Road, east of the I-40/Gordon Road interchange. We provide a recreational day camp filled with enjoyable activities and learning experiences. It is staffed by experienced professionals who have dedicated themselves to working with children and providing a program filled with exciting activities in a fun, safe environment. Trained personnel will provide emergency care if needed.

PHILOSOPHY

WCA Summer Day Camp provides a recreational program for children of parents who need summer childcare. The camp’s mission is to provide each child with a loving atmosphere designed to help the child develop physically, socially and spiritually, and to increase the child’s interests in recreational activities.

DISCIPLINE

With any grouping of children, control must be maintained for safety and program continuity. Appropriate measures will be taken to ensure control and safety in the camp. Parental support is essential to achieve these goals.

FACILITIES

Our camp has excellent equipment and facilities for a variety of recreational activities. These are used in a positive manner to encourage children to actively participate in a well-rounded program. Our facilities include athletic fields, a well-equipped gymnasium, and inviting playgrounds.

ACTIVITIES

WCA Day Camp offers activites that make our program unique. In order to form an appreciation of new experiences, all children are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities. These include field trips to area businesses and sites of interest, bowling, aerobic exercises, water activities, indoor/outdoor games, library time, sports skills, skating, and visits to the water park. A calendar of events is sent home monthly.

The camping experience will also include unit studies in health, safety and Christian living.

PERSONAL ITEMS

Children are encouraged to bring their own “special toys”, if they so desire for personal play time. Personal items must be labeled with the child’s name, and the teacher should be made aware of the item.

SNACKS/LUNCH

Lunch is provided everyday by WCA.  Snacks are to be provided by the parents. A variety of snacks and beverages will also be available from the Summer Snack Cart.

DRESS & GROOMING

Day Camp clothing should be modest and appropriate for summer fun. Boys may wear blue jeans or walking shorts no shorter than 2” above the knee and must wear shirts and shoes at all times. Tennis shoes are recommended. No objectionable pictures or slogans can be worn on t-shirts.  Faddish hair styles and earrings are not acceptable.

Girls may wear long shorts (no shorter than 2” above the knee), capris, non-form fitting pants, modest blouses, shirts or t-shirts. No tank tops or halters. Shoes must be worn at all times. Tennis shoes are recommended. No objectionable pictures or slogans can be worn on t-shirts.

Boys are to maintain a masculine hair cut . Hair should not touch the shirt collar, ears or eyebrows and be tapered (take the shape of the head). Faddish hair styles and earrings are not acceptable.

To register your child for WCA Summer Day Camp, please complete an application (printable version) and return it with your registration fee to Wilmington Christian Academy Day Camp, 1401 North College Road, Wilmington NC 28405.

SUMMER DAY CAMP RATES

Registration Fee: $30.00 / WCA students - $25.00
(Due with application) (Non-refundable)

Preschool Rates

4 year olds (Includes All Activities, Lunch & Snacks)
Full-Time:   $150
Part-Time:    $80

Elementary and Middle School Rates
(5 year olds - 14 year olds)

A camper may also attend an Enrichment Camp or Sports Camp the same week for an additional $50 (plus registration).

NOTE:  Payment will be due on Monday or the first day of attendance  for the week.   Each returned check will be assessed a $25 fee, and the family will be placed on a cash-only basis. There is a late charge of $1.00 per child for every minute past the 6:00 pick up time.
