Wilmington Christian Academy offers the best, most comprehensive summer camp program in the Wilmington area. Excellent facilities, caring, professional teachers, and enthusiastic coaches create an enjoyable summer experience at WCA that will be remembered for years to come.

  • Camps are co-ed.
  • Camps fill quickly, so register soon.
  • The registration fee is due with the registration form.
  • Registration fee are non-refundable.

  • The $100 camp fee is due the first day of camp (cash and checks acceptable).
  • A camper may also attend Enrichment Camp or Summer Day Camp the same week for an additional $50.

Volleyball Camp

Date: June 3 - 6

Cost: $100 (Due the first day of camp)

Grades: 4th-8th Graders

Times:

     Monday & Tuesday
     Wednesday
     Thursday
     3:30pm - 7:00pm
     1:30pm - 5:00pm
     3:00pm - 6:00pm

General Information

The camp will be conducted on two separate courts to accommodate skill levels. Each day will be divided into two sessions with a 15-minute break between the sessions. Campers will be given a camp t-shirt.

Daily Instruction

Instruction and drills covering passing, setting, spiking, blocking, defensive and offensive systems, serving and game play.

Competitions

Thursday’s schedule will be entirely game play where campers will use the skills they have learned. Prizes will be given after Thursday’s session.

Soccer Camp

Date: June 10 - 13

Cost: $100 (Due the first day of camp)

Times:

     3rd - 5th Graders
     6th - 8th Graders
     8:00am - 11:00am
     12:30pm - 3:30pm

Daily Instruction

Fundamentals in dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and game strategy will be emphasized.

Competitions

After drills, players will practice those skills in fun games such as line soccer, soccer golf, etc. Prizes will be given. Campers will be given a camp t-shirt.

Game Play

Each day’s sessions will end with team games. Tournament, small-sided, and indoor matches will bring each day to a great end!

Baseball Camp

Date: June 17 - 20

Cost: $100 (Due the first day of camp)

Grades: 4th - 8th Graders

Times:

     Beginning

General Information

The camp will cover the fundamentals of throwing, fielding, hitting and base running. There will be daily situational game play.

Basketball Camp

Date: June 24 - 27

Cost: $100 (Due the first day of camp)

Times:

     2nd - 4th Graders
     5th - 8th Graders
     8:00am - 11:00am
     12:30pm - 3:30pm

Daily Instruction

Fundamentals of ball handling, passing, shooting, footwork, man-to-man defense will be emphasized. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt.

Competitions

Competitions include one-on-one, free throw, three-on-three “cut throat”, and hot shot. Prizes will be given.

Game Play

Each team should get at least two 20-minute games per day.

Golf Camp

Date: July 1 - 3

Cost: $100 (Due the first day of camp)

Grades: 4th - 6th Grades

Times:  8:00 a.m. - noon

General Information

Golf Camp will focus on teaching individual and group lessons in swing techniques (fairway to chipping), ball striking, and course management. Players will receive instruction during private lessons on the driving range as well as the golf course. Prizes will be given for competition winners.

Cardio for Kids 1

Date: July 8 - 11

Cost: $100 (Due the first day of camp)

Ages: 5 - 8 Years Old

General Information

Being fit and healthy is important for all ages. Join us for strength training and cardio fitness. Learn how to make a fitness routine and stick with it. Set goals for yourself and achieve those goals. Learn how to make healthy and delicious snacks.

Crafts for All Seasons

Ages: 5-9 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Winter, spring, summer, fall there are crafts for them all. Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July and Thanksgiving are just a few crafts we will make in a week of cutting, pasting, painting and creating.

Computer Craze

Ages: 8-14 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Come to computer camp and learn how to create and design your own blog page with pictures, videos, and much more. Each camper will have a professional looking blog by the end of the week.

American Girl® Sew Cute!

Ages: 7-11 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Come join the American Girl® Club where we will have a great time designing and sewing accessories for our American Girl® dolls. If you have an American Girl® doll, please bring it with you to camp each day. If you don’t have an American Girl® doll, please bring your favorite doll. Our dolls will have lots of beautiful accessories by the end of the week.

Here's Pie in Your Face!

Ages: 7-14 years     Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm

Master the art of creating incredible pies. Flaky crusts, fruit pies, cream pies, pumpkin pies and more. The best part is you get to eat them. All yummy for your tummy!

 

Week 2: June 17 - 20

Young Artist Sampler

Ages: 7-10 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

If you’re a pint-sized Picasso who doesn’t know your favorite medium yet, this camp is for you! We’ll do a little bit of everything from pencils to pastels, paint to paper, and clay. We’ll try as much as we can fit into the week.

Queen in Training

Ages: 9-12 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

If you are too old to be a princess but want to be a queen, this is the camp for you. We will discuss ways to make you look and act like a queen. Be ready to paint your nails, do your hair and walk out looking like a queen at the end of the week.

Cupcake Creations

Ages: 7-11 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Calling all sweet geniuses! We will spend our time making a wide variety of fun and fancy cupcake creations. Children will have fun working with fondant, cake decorating tools, and icing. They will learn how to create custom cupcakes using a variety of edible items, and samples will come home daily. We will end our culinary camp with a cupcake masterpiece!

Fuzzy Fleeces

Ages: 7-14 years     Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm

Fashion fuzzy fleece blankets to tickle your fancy! Warm the cockles of your heart with your own labors and creativity. We’ll have several patterns to choose from, then plan your borders and create away.

 

Week 3: June 24 - June 27

Princess Boot Camp

Ages: 5-8 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Calling all princess “wanna-be’s”. Come learn how to be a princess or a beautiful young lady. We will have fun learning etiquette while completing crafts and activities and end the week with a princess party.

Intermediate Band Camp

Grades: 5th-8th     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Summer music fun is what band camp is all about! Students will play exciting music, explore music theory, and discover music history along the way. Camp will also include fun time, snack time, music games, and music appreciation. We will end the week with a concert and a pizza party!

Model Building (Woodworking 101)

Ages: 7-14 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Measure twice…cut once – the motto of a good woodworker. Come learn how to measure, cut, hammer, sand, and stain. We will be learning basic woodworking skills as we make model planes, cars, boats, etc.

Stitches n' Pins

Ages: 8-14 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

There will be projects to make and give made of felt fabric with basic hand-sewn embroidery stitches. Brooches, ornaments, hairclips and lots of other fun things will be made.

The Candy Shop

Ages: 7-14 years     Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm

Come learn confectioners’ delights. We’ll learn to make the best caramel popcorn ever, dreamy fudge, and more. Flavors to drive your taste buds crazy! Share your treats with family and friends.

 

Week 4: July 8 - 11

Lego® Cars Around the World

Ages: 6-9 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Come build your way around the world. We will take the classic cars characters as well as landmarks that will take us around the world. Crafts, snacks and computer activities will be added as pit stops throughout the day.

Handbell Camp

Grades: 4th-8th     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Experience the fun of ringing in a handbell choir. We will learn how to play different interesting techniques, learn music theory, play fun music games, enjoy snack time, and have recreation time. We will end the week with a concert and a pizza party!

Yo-Yo's & Quilting

Ages: 8-14 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Yo-Yo’s are hand gathered fabric circles used to make toys, ornaments, beverage coasters, napkin rings, and quilts. Come make lots of fun, creative projects with yo-yo’s.

Cookie Monster's Dream Camp

Ages: 7-14 years     Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm

Learn to bake fantastic cookies each day. Five new recipes to tantalize and tempt your taste buds. Basic baking skills will be taught while cooking. Add a glass of cold milk and we will munch the results.

 

Week 5: July 16 - 20

Beginning Band Camp

Grades: 4th-8th     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Get a head start on Beginner Band at your school! All young people are invited to take advantage of the opportunity to learn the basics of playing an instrument before school starts. Students will learn technique, musicianship, music reading, music theory, and performance etiquette. Camp will also include fun time, snack time, music games, and music appreciation. We will end the week with a concert and a pizza party!

Guitar Camp

Grades: K5-8th     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Expand chord knowledge, strum patterns, tablature reading, note reading, and much more! Every day will include basic music theory lessons and games. We will end the week with a concert and a pizza party!

Pop Can Models

Ages: 10-14 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pmCome build a whirly-gig biplane, insects, lanterns, and numerous other things out of pop cans. You will be a pop can engineer by the end of the week.

Mini-Mad Scientist

Ages: 5-8 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Weird Science, Fun Science, Mad Science and more will be in the hands of all the mini-scientist. Come and be ready to have a blast with science!

Sassy Scarves

Ages: 7-14 years     Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm

Knit, crochet, or sew a scarf to express your distinct personality. Scarves are the fashions of the day. Come create an accessory limited only by your imagination.

 

Week 6: July 22 - 25

Lego® Star Wars Invasion

Ages: 9-14 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

The force will have to be with us as we put together the spacecrafts of the Star Wars adventures. We will also have space snacks, space crafts and maybe a computer game or two.

Choir Camp

Ages: 9-14 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

All young singers are invited to learn how to be a better singer! We will learn group vocal technique, proper performance etiquette, and sing great music. Students will get their own music theory book, learn music appreciation, enjoy snack time, and have recreation time. We will end the week with a concert and a pizza party!

Camp Learn-a-Lot

Grades: 2nd-3rd     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Camp Learn-a-Lot is the place for all kids looking forward to 2nd and 3rd grade! We will review phonics, reading, and math with awesome games and interactive whiteboard activities. Come write funny, creative stories. Camp Learn-a-Lot is guaranteed to chase that summer boredom away and get you ready for school! You won’t want to miss it!

Mad Hatters Mania

Ages: 7-14 years     Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm

Create your unique, one-of-a-kind hat for warmth, in style, or just crazy fun. We will start with a ball cap or a knitted beanie and build the best hat the world has ever seen!

Kindergarten Korner

Ages: Rising K5 Children Only     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Calling new kindergartners to Kindergarten Korner! Dust off the summer cobwebs! Join us for phonics, reading and math review to get a jumpstart on kindergarten. We will review through hands-on activities, games, and much more. Come get a jumpstart for a successful transition to kindergarten!

Chess Camp

Ages: 8-14 years     Time: 8:00am-12:00pm

Hone strategic skills and analytical thinking at chess camp. Campers will enjoy the thrill of competition while they enrich their minds in a timeless, classic endeavor.

Woodworking for Girls

Fresh wholesome apple cake, best corn bread ever, cranberry nut bread, pumpkin rolls, and more. Learn how to read recipes, measure and mix ingredients, and bake. Then enjoy!
